We are Montanans from across the political spectrum who want to make Montana an affordable place to live, work, and play. We may not agree on everything, but we agree on the need to elect public servants committed to delivering an affordable Montana.
The current two-party system has failed Montana families for too long. Our outdated, winner-takes-all political system has been corrupted by billionaires and political insiders. This has left the needs of families and our communities in the dustbin.
The good news is there is a way to help us get out of this mess. It’s called fusion voting. It makes our votes and the issues that matter to us worth more than billionaire or special interest money. It forces our elected leaders to deal with what we care about: making sure that our families can find an affordable place to live, secure good jobs, and have access to good healthcare.

It allows us to move past partisan dogma that prioritizes major party loyalty over the needs of ourselves and our neighbors. It allows us to create a Montana that works for us, not just the uber-wealthy and politically well-connected.
Meet our leadership committee! We come from different political viewpoints and different towns, but we have an important thing in common: we care about the needs of Montana’s families.
Jeanne is a CPA, tireless advocate, and engaged citizen in Bozeman, fighting to strengthen trust in the face of the fear and division our political parties promote. She’s worked to elect candidates who center working-class issues, and feels increasingly disenfranchised by the two-party system.
Timaree is a working-class single mom who has felt the affordability crisis creep into her life, year after year. As a Catholic, single-income voter, she’s felt that she’s never had real choices to elect public servants who represent her values and interests.
Erik is a Missoula-based manufactured home resident and organizer. He’s voted across the political spectrum since his early 20s, including Democrats, Republicans, third-party candidates, independents, and write-ins. However, he’s rarely, if ever, been able to enthusiastically check any candidate’s box, as the needs of working-class people have not been the priority of the moneyed interests.
Nathanael manages a pawn shop in Bozeman and shares his trailer home with two dogs. Every day, he feels the pain of inaction by our elected officials who prioritize political maneuvering over pragmatic problem-solving. Whether it’s foregoing healthy food, delaying healthcare needs, or fearing the next rent increase, he feels we need public servants ready to tackle issues that are crushing working Montanans.
Shauna is a 6th-generation Montanan whose agricultural family homesteaded in the Gallatin Valley. She’s watched giant corporate farms come in and displace local farmers and ranchers while prices keep climbing. She pays her bills as a meter specialist for AmeriGas Propane, a company she’s worked for over two decades.
Andrew manages a local laundromat in Missoula, works in his community as a roofer, and organizes with his fellow manufactured home residents. He’s watched as both parties failed to deliver for working people, meaning he often gravitated to independent or third parties.
A historically Montana solution to a modern problem
Fusion voting – once legal and widely used in nearly every state, including Montana – allows more than one political party to nominate the same candidate. Votes for a candidate are counted separately by each party’s ballot line, then added together, or “fused,” into one total. For example, a candidate who wins the nomination of a major party could also be nominated by a second party and appear on the ballot twice, once under each banner, with both sets of votes counting towards the same candidate.
Fusion lets Montanans vote for the candidate they prefer, on the party line that best reflects their values, without wasting their vote on a candidate with no chance to win, or worse, helping elect the candidate they like least (spoiling an election). Fusion provides voters with more choices and allows people with common interests to build political power and influence elections.
